Make this avocado tzatziki, then serve it with Greek lamb pittas, hummus and Greek salad. Also check out more of our Greek recipes.

Ingredients

  • ½ cucumber, diced into ½cm cubes
  • 20ml olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 150g greek yogurt
  • ⅓ tsp chilli powder
  • a pinch black pepper
  • 1 avocado, cut into ½ cm cubes
  • 3 sprigs mint, leaves removed and chopped
  • warm pitta or keto-friendly bread , to serve

Method

  • STEP 1

    Put the cucumber in a large colander and sprinkle with ¼ tsp of salt. Leave to drain for 20 minutes.

  • STEP 2

    Meanwhile, in a large bowl, add the remaining ingredients 1 – except the avocado, cucumber and mint – plus ¼ tsp of salt. Stir the ingredients well to combine.

  • STEP 3

    Add the avocado and drained cucumber. Mix well, gently squashing the avocado into the mixture. Add the mint and mix again. This avocado tzatziki can be prepared a day ahead and eaten chilled with grilled pitta breads.
